TITLE: Computer Lab Paraprofessional - 26/27
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an elementary school computer lab paraprofessional to join our team. A successful candidate will support student learning by instructing them on software, hardware, and responsible, ethical, and safe use of technology. They will be responsible for facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day".
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 60 hours college credit or completion of the Para-Pro Assessment Test
  • Pass all background checks and screenings.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff Conduct
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Instruct students on proper computer usage, keyboarding techniques, and educational software/programs.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, printers, and peripheral equipment, and contact IT for repairs when necessary.
  • Empower users to navigate the digital world effectively while minimizing risks like cyberbullying, privacy breaches, and malware. Supervise students, enforce school technology policies, and ensure a safe, productive, and orderly learning environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab, including updating software and conducting equipment checks.
  • Track student progress, manage lab schedules, and maintain inventory.
  • Proficient in using computers, internet browsers, and common software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Ability to work with children, manage behavior, and explain technology concepts clearly.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • 185 days - 7.5 hrs / day (does not include a 30 minute lunch)
  • Pay Range: $16.76 (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience)
  • Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and other.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff.
