Coding Specialist II

Join our Team as a Coding Specialist II

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring accuracy in medical coding and billing? We're looking for a compassionate, caring, and dedicated Coding Specialist II to join our team and help us continue our tradition of excellence.

In this role, you'll be responsible for accurately coding professional and/or hospital charges by abstracting information from the electronic medical record to support compliant and timely claim submission. You'll also provide feedback and education to providers, support follow-up teams with required documentation, and help ensure coding and billing compliance across the organization.

What You'll Do:

  • Accurately code professional and/or hospital charges and claims using information from the electronic medical record. Ensure compliant and timely claim submission in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements. Provide educational feedback to providers based on audit findings to support coding and billing compliance. Communicate with leadership regarding daily progress, issues, and provider-related concerns. Support follow-up staff by obtaining and clarifying information needed for outstanding claims or charge recording.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Five years of experience in professional billing and coding is required. Candidates must have a coding background and pass internal assessments to be considered.

Certifications & Requirements:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification is required.
