What you'll do:
The Charge Capture Specialist supports Perioperative Services by ensuring accurate and timely capture of surgical charges, including supplies and implants, for procedures performed at Loyola University Medical Center. This role also supports key business and revenue cycle functions across perioperative and procedural areas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily auditing, reconciliation, and posting of surgical charges to ensure accuracy and timely completion
  • Collaborate with clinical, supply chain, and financial teams to validate usage, pricing, and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify and set up new billable supplies and implants within applicable systems
  • Provide training and guidance to clinical staff on proper documentation and charge capture practices
  • Monitor and report on revenue cycle activities, identifying and escalating discrepancies
  • Maintain and update perioperative databases and generate operational and KPI reports
  • Analyze data to support performance metrics such as case volumes, utilization, and efficiency
  • Provide cross-coverage support for perioperative operations, including scheduling and coordination functions
