PeaceHealth is seeking a Charge Capture Coding Specialist - Cancer Program for a Part Time, 0.80 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $26.11 - $39.17. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job Summary
Review documentation and may assign appropriate CPT/HCPCS Level II codes for charge capture and enter data/charges; ascertains the accuracy of the data/charges and resolves claim edits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Review, capture and edit charge coding; and may resolve OCE/CCI edits.
- Research and validates transaction and/or charge capture errors.
- Review documentation and may assign CPT/HCPCS Level II codes for charge capture/data entry as appropriate..
- Coordinate charge capture between hospital departments and PH clinics
- Coordinate charge coding and provides internal support to HIM and/or Revenue Cycle to include participation in planning and determining goals/targets and attainment of same. Timely calculation and submission of charge coding and/or correction of claim edits within stated targets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience in charge capture, claim resolution or related and
- Preferred: Previous coding and or billing experience and
- Preferred: Medical office, medical terminology, general HIM, Revenue Cycle, CPT and ICD-10 coding experience
Skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (Required)
- Mastery of medical terminology. (Preferred)
- Proficient computer and keyboard skills. (Required)
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision making skills (Required)

Lifting
- Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
