Charge Capture Associate (Outpatient

Evening Shift - 5 x 8s, typically M - F but possible weekend as well. 4pm to 12:30am. Strong data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and code outpatient visits for accurate charge capture.

  • Enter and verify CPT/ICD codes for billing, ensuring compliance.

  • Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with clinicians to resolve documentation gaps affecting charges.

  • Identify and correct under- or over-coding to optimize revenue.

  • Maintain high-volume productivity while meeting monthly targets.

  • Utilize charge capture software to track progress and pipeline status.

  • Audit and reconcile accounts receivable to support timely payments.

  • Document workflow deviations and implement process improvements.

  • Generate and share weekly performance dashboards for transparency.

  • Provide feedback to leadership on training needs and best practices.

  • Participate in on-site team huddles and performance reviews.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Proficient in CPT/ICD coding with accurate charge capture for outpatient visits.

  • Strong knowledge of payer guidelines and regulatory compliance.

  • Analytical skills to identify under- or over-coding and optimize revenue.

  • Experience using charge capture software and AR reconciliation tools.

  • Ability to collaborate with clinicians to resolve documentation gaps.

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting monthly productivity targets.

  • Experience auditing and reconciling accounts receivable for timely payments.

  • Detail-oriented with strong issue-resolution and process improvement capabilities.

  • Ability to generate weekly performance dashboards and present insights clearly.
