What is a Channel Operations Manager?

A Channel Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the processes, relationships, and performance of a company's distribution channels, such as resellers, distributors, or partners. They ensure that products and services are efficiently delivered to customers through these channels, manage partner relationships, and optimize channel strategies to meet sales and business goals. This role often involves coordinating between internal teams and external partners, analyzing channel performance data, and implementing process improvements to drive revenue growth.

What are some common challenges Channel Operations Managers face when coordinating with multiple partners and internal teams?

Channel Operations Managers often work with a diverse range of partners and internal departments, which can lead to challenges such as aligning priorities, managing communication gaps, and ensuring consistent execution of channel strategies. Balancing the needs and expectations of external partners with internal sales, marketing, and logistics teams requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Successfully navigating these dynamics helps ensure smooth channel operations, timely issue resolution, and sustained partner satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Channel Operations Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Channel Operations Manager, you need strong analytical abilities, supply chain knowledge, and experience in partner management, often supported by a degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems, channel management software, and data analysis tools is typically required. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills help you effectively coordinate with partners and internal teams. These capabilities ensure efficient channel processes, strong partner relationships, and achievement of sales and distribution goals.

What jobs make $3,000 a month without a degree?

A Channel Operations Manager typically earns more than $3,000 monthly, but entry-level roles in customer service, sales, or administrative support can also reach this income level with experience. Skills such as communication, organization, and familiarity with tools like CRM software can help in these roles, which often do not require a degree.

Job description

Description
WHO WE ARE
Come join the company reinventing data security, empowering businesses to realize the full potential of their data. As the leading data security platform purpose-built for the cloud era, Cyera's mission is to reinvent how businesses secure data, enable agile collaboration, and boldly pursue new business opportunities. Trusted by security teams at leading global businesses, our team is proving that data security is the next big thing in cyber. Backed by the world's leading investors and working with a large and growing list of Fortune 1000 companies, we are looking for world-class talent to join us as we usher in the new era of data security.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Manager, Channel Operations, you will be the strategic owner of Channel Operations at Cyera. You'll partner with senior Channel leadership to design scalable processes, define success metrics, and build the operational rigor required to grow partner-sourced and partner-influenced revenue-starting with North America and laying the groundwork for future global scale.
This is a high impactful role, ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from first principles, and has prior experience supporting senior Channel leaders in high-growth SaaS environments. You'll manage one Channel Ops IC who will support execution, while you focus on strategy, structure, and scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Channel Strategy & Operating Model
  • Partner closely with Channel & Alliances leadership to design and evolve the Channel operating model, with a strong focus on scaling success with Cyera's top strategic partners.
  • Establish clear operational frameworks for how Cyera works with GSIs, Resellers & VARs, Technology Alliances, and CSP partners, aligned to our ICP (G2K and Enterprise).
  • Help define and operationalize the channel operating cadence (QBR inputs, metric reviews, planning cycles, and run-the-business insights).

Metrics, KPIs & Insights
  • Define, monitor, and continuously improve KPIs that measure channel effectiveness and growth, including:
  • Partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline and closed-won revenue
  • Deal registration quality, velocity, and conversion
  • Partner activation and engagement
  • Program participation and enablement signals
  • Build executive-ready dashboards and reporting that translate partner activity into actionable insights and clear investment decisions.

Process Ownership & Scale
  • Own and evolve core Channel Ops processes, including:
  • Deal registration lifecycle and governance
  • Partner program operations and enforcement
  • Incentive and SPIFF tracking and readiness
  • Partner enablement and certification tracking
  • Ensure processes are scalable, documented, and built for growth, not one-off execution.

Systems & Tooling
  • Serve as the business owner for Channel Operations workflows in Salesforce (strong understanding required; admin support available).
  • Partner with RevOps Systems and leadership to evaluate, recommend, and scale additional tooling where appropriate (e.g., PRM solutions, analytics tools, marketplace tooling).
  • Support and operationalize cloud marketplace motions (e.g., AWS Marketplace) as part of broader channel workflows and reporting.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage and mentor one Channel Ops IC, providing direction, prioritization, and development.
  • Act as a trusted partner to Channel leadership, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Enablement to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a rapidly evolving Channel organization.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: 5+ years in Channel Operations, Partner Operations, or GTM Operations supporting partner-led growth in a SaaS environment (cybersecurity strongly preferred).
  • Strategic Operator: Proven ability to build and scale processes in ambiguous, fast-growing organizations; comfortable being both a thought partner and a builder.
  • Channel Fluency: Experience supporting complex partner ecosystems including GSIs, Resellers/VARs, Technology Alliances, and CSPs.
  • Systems & Data Strength: Strong Salesforce expertise with the ability to design reporting, dashboards, and workflows that leadership trusts and uses.
  • Leadership Mindset: Experience managing or mentoring others and operating as a senior partner to Channel leadership.
  • Bias for Scale: You naturally think in terms of repeatability, leverage, and long-term growth rather than short-term fixes.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
Compensation Range: $160,000-$200,000.
The range represents total compensation, and may include incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
This compensation range represents Cyera's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting, and Cyera may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. The final salary for this position will be determined in Cyera's sole discretion, consistent with applicable law, and based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the employee's work experience, skills, and qualifications for the role, as well as the needs of Cyera's business and other operational considerations.
Final compensation will vary based on seniority and relevance of experience, location, and position requirements.
This role may be eligible for potential merit increases based on factors such as individual or company performance, time in role, and other discretionary factors.
BENEFITS - Why Cyera?
  • Ability to work remotely, with office setup reimbursement
  • Competitive salary
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid holidays and sick time
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Life, short and long-term disability insurance
