About the Team and Role:
The Risk function at eBay works to create a trusted platform and provide phenomenal experiences when buyers and sellers come together on the world's biggest marketplace. As part of the Financial Services organization, Risk supports the strategic growth of the company within defined risk appetite. eBay Live Risk Policy team is a new and exciting team within Risk function that enables the accelerating growth of Live Program. You will join a team of sharp-minded risk managers in building the risk management framework from scratch, for the fastest growing program in eBay in the years to come.
As a Seller Risk Policy Manager, you will own the strategy and operations for eBay Live Seller Lifetime Risk Management. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a secure and trusted marketplace by designing risk capabilities, defining seller privileges, and driving multi-functional risk projects.
What You Will Accomplish:
  • Lifetime Risk Management: Oversee seller profiling, account-level risk evaluation, and privilege management for the Live Seller portfolio.
  • Framework Design: Design and implement an automated lifetime seller risk assessment and action framework.
  • Policy Strategy & Implementation: Define risk policies and appetite for listing privileges, selling limits, Funds Availability and payout controls
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish dashboards to oversee performance monitoring, loss performance, and ongoing risk mitigations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Rules, Risk Operations, and Global Customer Experience (GCX) teams to build out pertinent risk capabilities, manage agent review queues, and implement policies.

What You Will Bring:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Risk Management (such as merchant risk management, lending, credit risk management, or financial services).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong background in statistics, hypothesis testing, cohort studies, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Soft Skills: Highly determined with a strong sense of autonomy and ownership. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Teamwork: Proven capacity to drive multi-functional projects and facilitate strong cross-team communication.
  • A Master's degree in a quantitative field preferred
  • Proven experience in the data-backed risk strategy development cycle preferred

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
115,000-125,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
