Business Development Representative Responsibilities

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities, building strong referral partnerships, and delivering exceptional client experience. This individual will work closely with plumbing referral partners, plumbing wholesalers, community organizations, and prospective clients to cultivate long-term relationships that drive growth and support those in need of restoration services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a strategic action plan to develop new business and strengthen client relationships.
  • Work closely with plumbing companies, plumbing referral partners, plumbing wholesalers, and other key referral sources to establish, maintain, and grow mutually beneficial relationships that generate consistent restoration referrals and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with plumbing wholesalers to identify prospective customers, strengthen industry partnerships, and uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Generate and secure new sales revenue by prospecting, networking, and adding new customers within the assigned territory.
  • Perform sales calls and outreach activities that result in scheduled meetings with target referral prospects.
  • Build trust with customers and referral partners, leading to consistent referrals and long-term partnerships.
  • Provide compassionate, responsive, and exceptional service while assisting clients through challenging situations.
  • Create and maintain accurate sales records and customer contact databases.
  • Achieve company sales goals and regularly update management on account activity and pipeline progress.
  • Complete weekly and monthly sales reports in a timely manner and actively participate in weekly sales meetings.
  • Attend client meetings, trade shows, networking events, conferences, and community events to increase brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Deliver group presentations to prospective organizations and referral partners.
  • Coordinate sales initiatives with marketing efforts, including promotions, advertising, social media campaigns, exhibitions, and telemarketing.
  • Maintain a professional, ethical, and positive presence as a representative of the company within the community.

Business Development Representative Requirements:

  • 3+ years proven sales experience in a business development role, preferably outside sales
  • Industry knowledge or the ability to seek knowledge if new to the industry
  • Results-driven and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to multitask with a sense of urgency to make things happen
