The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Business Development Manager will be assigned to all major product areas to support Global Business Development initiatives. The key function of the Business Development Manager is to identify gaps and targets in the business and align new business opportunities to the group's strategic priorities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides customer insight, competitor intelligence, product trends and industry developments to fully understand the relevant market.

  • Identifies market needs for new products, processes, and technologies.

  • Keeps abreast of Magna's global capabilities for products, processes, and techniques.

  • Recommends initiatives for technology transfer, continuous improvement, and innovation development objectives.

  • Utilizes strategic roadmap to guide development toward commercial opportunities aligned to strategy.

  • In conjunction with strategic quoting initiatives and the relevant divisions, leads the development and execution of a successful roadmap for pursuit of new business targets to business plan.

  • Supports the identification of key business opportunities and align business plan inputs to achieve strategic initiatives.

  • Analyzes target pursuit opportunities to generate and substantiate priorities to review.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with OEM customers, suppliers and divisions that support Magna's ability to be successful.

  • Develops and analyzes cost models to determine engineering estimates and production quotation estimates for opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability and/or physical demands required. Education- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other relevant area of study. MBA or relevant business experience preferred.
Special Knowledge - Engineering, product design and manufacturing, business case development and analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An internationalist, able to complete self-directed tasks and work autonomously. Able to communicate in English and local language including fluency with automotive technical terminology.
Experience - 8-10+ years of experience in a technical and/or business capacity with 2 years of experience in business development or sales. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment and automotive or relevant other industry required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, will require extensive local, domestic and international travel.
