Job description

Research Apprentice is tasked with day-to-day execution of RIC investigations as related to Mark Anthony core interests in beverage production. Responsible for monitoring overall RIC processes and to leading troubleshooting efforts to ensure unforeseen process events are addressed with a sense of urgency.  Apprentices will be cross trained in all functional areas of the RIC and will be required to complete all tasks in the brewing, blending, kitting, spirit production, packaging, sanitation, quality and maintenance areas. 

Accountabilities:

  • Technical Breadth – learn all aspects of brewing and packaging from the time materials arrive to the time finished goods leave the site. Additionally, all compliance regulations must be learned.
  • Logistics – operational logistics including SOP authorship, QAD, ETQ, StarLIMS, etc for proper tracking of materials, quality, and food safety.
  • Leadership – internal leadership in areas of safety, GMP, people management, and project management

Key Metrics & Financial Targets:

  • Achievements according to the Research Brewing Apprentice Curriculum depending on time in the Pilot Brewery
  • Achieve Supply Chain global metrics of COGS, Safety, and Quality
  • Deliver production products on time

Own:

  • Pilot brewery projects in various areas of the brewing and distilling process

Influence:

  • Technical brewing and distilling projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Veto:

  • Determined based on background and knowledge

Critical Relationships:

  • Brewing, Packaging, Quality, Technical Services

Skills Needed To Be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Life Sciences: Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physics, Food Science
  • Solution oriented, critical thinking, efficient decision making, and RCFA
  • Works collaboratively within various teams

Compensation:

Compensation offered to prospective Team Members has taken internal equity into consideration and can vary depending on a positions’ location. The final agreed upon wage may vary based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the individual.
