About the Role

We're looking for a proactive, culturally plugged-in Content Creator Intern to support our team in bringing the Athletic brand to life across digital platforms. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, assisting with concepting, shooting, editing, and publishing content on a weekly cadence - helping drive awareness, engagement, and brand love while learning what it takes to hold every piece to our quality bar.

Our Content Creator Intern helps tell the story of Athletic in culture and in community. This role is a mix of learning and doing, giving you exposure to how a content team thinks inclusively about whose stories get told and stays ahead of culture with fresh, innovative ideas. If you are energized by spotting trends in real time, contributing ideas in the room, and turning concepts into content quickly, this is where you will thrive.

This is a hands-on learning position. Success requires integrity in how you represent the brand, the accountability to follow through on assignments and deadlines, and a proactive, coachable approach to picking up new skills and opportunities as they come.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Storytelling

    • Concept, script, shoot, and edit short-form and mid-form video content as well as static assets using mobile and lightweight production tools.

    • Move fluidly from ideation production publishing - often within the same day.

    • Capture real-time brand moments, community stories, partnerships, and cultural trends.

    • Develop creative ideas that tap into real-time cultural trends, creator formats, and consumer passions.

    • Maintain brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across all platforms.

    • Collaborate with internal teams to bring brand campaigns, product launches, and key initiatives to life through social-first storytelling.

    • Assist in the production and editing of paid social video content.

    • Assist with creative productions.

  • Creative Innovation & Trendspotting

    • Stay ahead of platform trends, emerging formats, and creator best practices.

    • Pitch fresh, innovative content ideas weekly to keep Athletic culturally relevant

    • Experiment with new storytelling approaches, formats, and features to elevate brand presence.

    • Monitor comments and messages, identify opportunities for engagement, and help foster a positive and engaged community.

Who You Are:

  • A proactive self-starter who takes ownership and consistently delivers high-quality weekly output

  • A strong visual storyteller with a deep understanding of what makes audiences stop scrolling.

  • Comfortable being scrappy - shooting on iPhone or lightweight tools, and editing content quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Comfortable being on-camera or directing on-camera talent.

Skills and Experience:

  • Credentials: Attending University, prior intern experience is preferred

  • Strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies.

  • Excellent project management and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in mobile editing apps and video editing software is a plus.

Job Details

  • Location: Located onsite at our San Diego, CA brewery. In office 3 days a week required.

  • Salary: $20/hour

  • Hours: 20-30 hours/week

  • Duration: 4 - 6 months
