Location: Gengis Khan is located in food court of the Plaza West Covina Mall (809 W Plaza Drive, West Covina, CA)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team! As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the restaurants operational performance and financial well-being:
1. Staff Management

  • Hiring and training cooks, food prep staff, and front-of-house workers.
  • Scheduling employees to ensure proper coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Supervising performance and providing feedback or discipline as needed.
  • Ensuring team adherence to safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
2. Food & Service Operations

  • Overseeing the daily setup of the grill station, prep area, and buffet lines.
  • Ensuring food rotation, freshness, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Managing inventory of ingredients (meats, vegetables, sauces, noodles) and placing orders.
  • Monitoring portion control and waste to maintain cost efficiency.
3. Customer Service

  • Handling customer complaints or feedback and ensuring a high standard of satisfaction.
  • Observing front-line operations to improve service speed and friendliness.
  • Occasionally interacting directly with guests, especially during busy times.
4. Financial Oversight

  • Tracking sales, labor, and food cost percentages.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, or monthly reports for corporate or ownership review.
  • Managing cash handling procedures, POS reports, and bank deposits.
5. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with local health department regulations and inspections.
  • Training staff on cleaning procedures, personal hygiene, and food handling.
  • Performing regular sanitation checks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the stall or counter.
6. Marketing & Promotions (if applicable)

  • Coordinating with mall marketing teams for promotions or events.
  • Ensuring signage and menu boards are updated and attractive.
  • Gathering customer feedback to improve menu or service offerings.
7. Equipment and Maintenance

  • Ensuring the grill, refrigeration units, and prep tools are maintained and repaired as needed.
  • Reporting or overseeing quick resolution of equipment breakdowns.
Starting pay will be from $22 plus tips
