Job description

The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing bookkeeping engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Primary duties and responsibilities include maintaining general ledgers, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and preparing year‑end work papers for tax return preparation. Additionally, the Senior Bookkeeper will collaborate closely with firm leadership and tax professionals to support client advisory services and may provide guidance to junior bookkeeping staff.

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm environment. This is a full‑time role based in Norwell, MA, with some work‑from‑home flexibility after an initial introductory period.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a CPA or public accounting firm
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
