Job description

Slate Health Solutions, together with one of our affordable housing partners, is seeking an experienced Real Estate Accounting & Administrative Specialist to join a growing real estate management company in the Boca Raton area. This is primarily an in-office position with the flexibility to work remotely on select days. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in real estate or property management accounting. Experience with Affordable Housing, HUD, and LIHTC programs is highly preferred. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with property-level accounting records, rent information, invoices, vendors, tenant accounts, and general office administration.

Primary Responsibilities

- Process and organize property-related invoices and vendor bills

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable

- Record rents, deposits, payments, and expenses

- Review tenant ledgers, rent rolls, balances, and collection reports

- Assist with bank reconciliations and monthly financial reporting

- Maintain accurate records for multiple properties

- Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation for management

- Track unpaid balances, missing documents, vendor issues, and open items

- Communicate with tenants, vendors, contractors, accountants, and property staff

- Organize leases, contracts, insurance documents, utility bills, and property files

- Provide administrative support to ownership and management

- Assist with special projects and operational follow-up as needed

Qualifications

- At least two years of relevant experience in real estate, property management, or property accounting preferred

- Practical experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations

- Understanding of rent rolls, tenant ledgers, property expenses, and vendor accounts

- Strong Excel and computer skills

- Experience with QuickBooks and/or property management software preferred

- Highly organized and able to follow through on assignments

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently while communicating clearly with management

- Professional, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy office environment

This position requires relevant experience. It is not intended for candidates seeking their first administrative or bookkeeping position.
