Job description

Susquehanna Ford is seeking a driven and talented automotive sales professional to join our team as Assistant Sales Manager / Sales Manager Trainee. This unique role is split 50% Salesperson and 50% Assistant Sales Manager. Income will be generated in the same 50/50 proportion - you will earn commissions from your personal sales production while also receiving management overrides and bonuses as you take on leadership responsibilities.


This position is designed as a clear succession opportunity. The successful candidate will work directly with our current Sales Manager and is expected to step into the full Sales Manager role within 6-12 months upon their retirement.


The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automotive sales, a proven ability to meet and exceed goals, and a passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience. You must be skilled at overcoming objections, detail-oriented, and eager to grow with a progressive, family-owned dealership.


This is a commission-based position with income derived from personal sales production, product penetration, team performance, and meeting dealership goals. Previous management or finance experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Sell vehicles at a high level while simultaneously developing leadership skills (50% sales / 50% management)
  • Ensure all sales are structured to produce maximum profitability
  • Accurately desk deals, submit to lenders, make credit decisions, and close deals effectively
  • Provide financing recommendations and present product offerings to enhance the customer's ownership experience
  • Maintain required proficiencies and manufacturer certifications
  • Ensure every deal complies with all local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Prepare paperwork, contracts, and deliver vehicles
  • Audit team deals post-sale and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Help guarantee the timely funding of all contracts
  • Support, coach, and develop the sales team as you transition into full management responsibilities
