Director of Development

The Mizrahi Family Torah Academy (MFTA) - Plantation, FL

Mizrahi Family Torah Academy is a growing Orthodox yeshiva day school providing a warm, values-driven, and academically strong educational experience for students and families throughout South Florida. Our school serves families from Hollywood, North Miami, Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Coral Springs, and is conveniently located in scenic Plantation, Florida—minutes from Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport.

As a relatively young institution with an ambitious vision, MFTA is in an exciting stage of growth. We are seeking an experienced, mission-aligned Director of Development to help cultivate and expand our donor base and build sustainable philanthropic support for years to come.

Position Overview

The Director of Development will lead and execute all fundraising and advancement efforts for Mizrahi Family Torah Academy. This role requires a seasoned development professional who understands the unique landscape of Jewish education and yeshiva day schools, and who is energized by the opportunity to build relationships, tell a compelling school story, and grow a culture of philanthropy within a developing institution.

The Director of Development will work closely with the Head of School, lay leadership, and key stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the school’s mission, programs, and long-term financial health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a comprehensive annual development plan, including annual giving, major gifts, campaigns, grants, and events

  • Cultivate, steward, and expand a diverse donor base, with particular attention to engaging new supporters of a growing school

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and community partners

  • Clearly and compellingly communicate MFTA’s mission, vision, and unique educational value to supporters

  • Partner with school leadership and board members to support donor engagement and solicitation efforts

  • Oversee donor stewardship, acknowledgment, and reporting to ensure meaningful and professional donor experiences

  • Manage fundraising data, tracking, and reporting to support strategic decision-making

  • Support special campaigns, capital needs, and long-term sustainability initiatives as the school continues to grow
