Summary:
The Assistant Terminal Manager performs procedures for loading trucks and unloading railroad cars. This position assists with office work and performs maintenance. The position performs duties as back-up to the Terminal Manager.
What you'll be contributing:
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Loads trucks timely and operates a computerized loading system.
  • Unloads railroad cars on time to ensure efficient customer service.
  • Operates silos and compressors.
  • Performs regular cleaning, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment, buildings, and terminal grounds. Keeps all air slides, valves, and solenoids in car unloading and truck loading systems in good working order.
  • Performs daily activities handling inquiries and orders for customers and sales personnel.
  • Assists with the daily shipping report and other required records.
  • Assists in controlling inventory by monitoring unloading and loading systems.
  • Assists in training other terminal employees.
  • Performs responsibilities of the Terminal Manager when the Terminal Manager is absent.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in cement or related industry terminal is preferred.
  • Knowledge of terminal operation policies and procedures. Skill in using terminal equipment and computerized systems.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to operate all terminal equipment and office machines, including railcar vibrators, silos and related equipment, switch engine, and rail cars.
  • Ability to climb silo ladders up to 50-90 feet in height
  • Ability to work under supervision with standard practice procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to refer problems to supervisor for guidance.

Compensation:
  • Compensation: $64,900 - $80,100
  • Eligible for yearly bonus
