Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
We are seeking a Trainmaster who will be responsible for daily planning of all inbound/outbound intermodal traffic. This position will communicate daily with the transportation group to plan, set out, and pick up instructions for inbound/outbound trains. The Trainmaster also manages total inventory for ramp and support yard. Must be able to prioritize/manage inbound and outbound demands for terminal to meet customer goals. Ensures the safety of crews and meets operational targets as outlined by the KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) set by customer and company.
Trainmaster
  • Responsible for assisting in the entire terminal operations including safety, administration, maintenance, and productivity.
  • Responsible for problem-solving with local railroad officers.
  • Promote safety by actively promoting employee habits, attributes, and behavior.
  • Initiate and provide an accurate, complete, and timely investigation of all accidents and incidents, including root cause, remedial action, and recommended solutions.
  • Promote the company safety initiative. Instill a safety culture. Enforces and upholds all ConGlobal rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Responsible for all administrative tasks related to terminal management.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a railyard, terminal, or logistics environment preferred.
  • Previous intermodal experience required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of day-to-day railroad operations and practices
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with logistics and rail systems such as BNSF and HUB Planner is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to be self-directed and to thrive in a fast-paced, pressure-filled work environment
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
      • The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.
