Job description

Terminal Operator I - Working with a tight-knit team to solve the everyday issues of producing high quality asphalt binder.

Our position is for a full-time Terminal Operator I at our Gainesville, GA facility. The ideal operator would possess good organizational, time management, problem-solving, and housekeeping skills. We want people who look for opportunities to learn new skills and can contribute to making our facility an even better place to work.

Our Terminal Operator I is an entry-level, safety-sensitive operations position focused on the general functions of the terminal. This position reports to the Terminal Manager and interfaces with all employees within the terminal, as well as customers, vendors and employees from other parts of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Safety requirements and procedures.
  • Able to work independently (self-driven), as well as a Team Player.
  • Maintain customer, supplier and Company confidentiality.
  • Maintain regular hours by being present, on-time and producing professional, error-free work.
  • Receive and hook up rail cars.
  • Connect steam and unloading hoses.
  • Collect and record tank temperatures and measurements. Record information appropriately.
  • Have a working knowledge of and successfully operate Order Weigh system.
  • Perform routine yard maintenance.
  • Assist with maintenance of equipment.
  • Pull product samples upon request.
  • Adhere to all (DOT) and (OSHA) requirements.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and timeliness.
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Other duties as required by Terminal Manager.

Job Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills and PC knowledge.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (where applicable).
  • Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time on concrete floors and outside surfaces.
  • Able to work outside in varying weather conditions, varying cold, hot & humid temperatures.
  • Manual dexterity; ability to reach; able to bend and move with agility.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
