Job Summary
The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Recruitment Specialist develops and executes strategic outreach initiatives to strengthen Deaconess Health System's physician recruitment pipeline. This role builds relationships with residents, fellows, medical students, residency and fellowship programs, and employed physician ambassadors.
Serving as the primary coordinator for GME outreach and residency/fellowship relationship development, the GME Recruitment Specialist collaborates with physician recruiters, physician leaders, residency program representatives, Marketing, and operational leadership to increase Deaconess' visibility among physicians in training and support long-term physician workforce planning.
Essential Functions
Graduate Medical Education Outreach
  • Develop and maintain relationships with residency and fellowship programs within targeted recruitment markets.
  • Develop annual outreach calendars and strategic engagement plans.
  • Coordinate onsite visits, career fairs, conferences, educational events, and virtual engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate resident and fellow recruitment events, dinners, networking opportunities, and educational programming.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of residency and fellowship program contacts within the recruitment CRM.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Deaconess' presence and engagement within Graduate Medical Education.
Physician Pipeline Development
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with residents, fellows, and prospective physician candidates.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Strategist to coordinate communication campaigns targeting physicians in training.
  • Maintain accurate candidate information and engagement activities within the recruitment CRM.
  • Partner with Physician Recruiters to transition qualified prospects into active recruitment opportunities.
  • Monitor physician pipeline activity and provide regular reporting on recruitment efforts.
Physician Recruitment Ambassador Program
  • Coordinate and oversee the Physician Recruitment Ambassador Program.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support employed physician ambassadors representing key specialties.
  • Coordinate physician ambassador participation in conferences, residency visits, recruitment events, and other outreach activities.
  • Prepare recruitment materials, presentations, and talking points for physician ambassadors.
  • Track ambassador participation, candidate interactions, and recruitment outcomes.
Recruitment Marketing
  • Coordinate physician recruitment marketing initiatives targeting residents and fellows.
  • Assist with specialty-specific recruitment campaigns and outreach strategies.
  • Coordinate conference exhibits, promotional materials, and branded recruitment resources.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop physician recruitment collateral and digital content.
  • Support physician testimonials and employer branding initiatives that promote Deaconess as an employer of choice.
Data & Reporting
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators related to GME outreach and physician pipeline development.
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities, residency and fellowship contacts, ambassador participation, and conference outcomes.
  • Analyze recruitment trends and identify opportunities to improve physician pipeline development.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership regarding outreach activities, pipeline development, and recruitment outcomes.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
Preferred: Minimum of three years of relevant experience in physician recruitment, healthcare recruitment, Graduate Medical Education, provider relations, healthcare marketing, physician liaison services, or a related field.
