Your Role as Assistant Property Manager
As an Assistant Property Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day success of the portfolio. You will partner closely with the Property Manager to support operations, leasing, resident relations, financial performance, marketing, and team development.
You understand that every interaction matters. From a prospective resident's first tour to a resident's move-out experience, you will help create a community where people feel welcomed, respected, and valued.
This position is also designed to help you build the skills and experience needed for future leadership opportunities, including financial reporting, delinquency management, leasing performance, resident retention, and team collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with current and prospective residents
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Greet, assist, and lease apartments to prospective residents
  • Conduct property and apartment tours while ensuring homes are tour-ready and move-in ready
  • Utilize self-guided and video tour technology to support the leasing experience
  • Maintain accurate and compelling online advertising
  • Complete weekly market surveys and track leasing performance
  • Monitor curb appeal and overall community presentation
  • Process rental applications accurately and in accordance with company policies and housing regulations
  • Prepare lease documents and coordinate required signatures
  • Assist with delinquency management, including reviewing balances, posting late fees, scanning checks, and issuing rent demands
  • Support financial, operational, and marketing reporting as directed by the Property Manager
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant resident files
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with residents, vendors, prospects, and team members
  • Utilize Yardi, Elise AI, Google Workspace, and other technology to manage daily operations
  • Cross-train and provide support across multiple communities within the portfolio; back-up leasing person for the leasing agent
  • Support the Property Manager with additional operational and leadership responsibilities as needed
What You Bring

Required:
  • At least 1 year of property management experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal housing regulations
  • High level of accountability and follow-through
  • Reliable attendance and strong time-management skills
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable vehicle as driving to the other communities will be needed regularly

Preferred:
  • Assistant Property Manager experience
  • Experience with Yardi or other property management software
  • Experience with leasing, resident relations, and delinquency management
  • Fluency in English is required. Spanish proficiency is a plus.
