What property job makes the most money?

In the property industry, real estate developers and commercial real estate brokers tend to earn the highest incomes, often through commissions, bonuses, and profit sharing. These roles typically require extensive experience, strong negotiation skills, and sometimes advanced certifications or licenses. High earnings are also associated with managing large-scale projects or high-value properties.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Property Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Property Manager, you need a solid understanding of real estate operations, property laws, budgeting, and usually a degree in business or real estate management, with some positions requiring relevant certification. Familiarity with property management software (like Yardi or AppFolio), lease administration systems, and compliance tools is typically expected. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills help you build strong tenant relationships and efficiently address issues. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maximizing property value, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and maintaining smooth, compliant operations.

What types of challenges might a property manager face when overseeing multiple rental properties, and how can these be addressed?

Property managers frequently juggle responsibilities across multiple properties, which can present challenges such as coordinating maintenance, managing tenant relationships, and ensuring timely rent collection. Effective organization, use of property management software, and clear communication with both tenants and service providers are essential to address these challenges. Additionally, staying updated on local regulations and building positive relationships with contractors can help property managers maintain high occupancy rates and tenant satisfaction.

Job description

Be the Person Our Properties and Team Count On Every Day
$20/hour, starting rate
Are you someone who takes pride in getting things done right? Do you like being out in the field, moving around, and knowing that your work directly keeps people's homes running? Are you the kind of person who shows up, follows through, and never leaves a job half-done?
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
We're hiring a Property Assistant to be the boots on the ground for our growing rental portfolio across the greater Chattanooga area. You'll be out in the field every day -- coordinating repairs, running errands, supporting inspections, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Are you someone who figures things out, gets things done, and never leaves a job half-finished? Then this role is for you.
Why You'll Love This Role
No Two Days Look the Same
You'll be out in the field, moving across properties, handling real work that matters -- not stuck at a desk staring at a screen.
Your Work Directly Protects People's Homes
Every repair you coordinate, every inspection you support, every errand you run keeps a home in shape and a resident taken care of.
You'll Have a Team Behind You
You won't be thrown into the deep end alone. Our property management team works alongside you, and you'll always know who to loop in when something needs escalating.
Steady Work, Real Impact
This is a full-time role with consistent hours, real responsibilities, and a team that values people who show up, get things done, and don't stop caring about the work when the day ends.
What You'll Do
50% -- Property Maintenance Support
  • Respond to maintenance and repair requests across the portfolio
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to make sure jobs get done right
  • Handle general repairs and upkeep as needed (painting, minor fixes, and similar tasks)
  • Know when to handle it yourself and when to bring in additional support
20% -- Inspections and Turnovers
  • Assist with move-in and move-out property inspections
  • Support turnover and make-ready work between tenants
20% -- Errands and Field Tasks
  • Pick up supplies, materials, and parts as needed across the portfolio
  • Handle property-related errands and field tasks across the Chattanooga area
10% -- Team and Administrative Support
  • Communicate job updates clearly and promptly with the team
  • Keep accurate records of completed work and materials used
  • Provide general support to the property management team as needed

Requirements
You're a Fit If You...
  • Take pride in doing things right the first time
  • Are reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently across multiple locations
  • Communicate clearly and follow through on every task without being chased
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation
  • Have good judgment -- you know when to handle something yourself and when to loop in the team
  • Are available for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency calls (not frequent, but required)
  • Can pass a background check
Skills and Requirements
  • Experience in property maintenance, general repairs, or a similar hands-on role (preferred, not required)
  • Based in or able to work across the greater Chattanooga area, including nearby TN and GA communities
  • Strong communicator -- comfortable working with vendors, contractors, and the internal team
  • Physically able to handle the demands of a field-based role

Benefits
Compensation and Schedule
  • $20/hour (approximately $42,000/year full-time)
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm core hours
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend emergency response required

Specific employment structure discussed at offer.
Why Join Property Rush?
We're a fast-growing real estate investment and property management company built on OASIS -- Ownership, Adaptability, Stewardship, Integrity, and Scalability. These values shape how we work, how we treat each other, and how we show up for our owners and residents every single day.
If you want steady, meaningful work where you can see the results of what you do -- and a team that genuinely has your back -- you'll feel right at home here.
Ready to Join the Team?
If you're dependable, hands-on, and ready to be the person our properties and team count on -- we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and let's get to work.
