Job description

Weitzman is the most respected provider of retail real estate services in Texas. Our team provides a full range of services including general brokerage, property management, asset management and development services. We operate exclusively in Texas’ major markets: Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

Weitzman is seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to manage a portfolio of retail shopping centers and serve as a key point of contact for tenants, leasing teams, and institutional ownership. This role blends hands-on property operations with financial oversight, owner communication, and strategic execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations for a retail portfolio, including property operations, lease administration, budgeting, reporting, rent collections, and vendor oversight

  • Deliver proactive, solution-oriented customer service to tenants and owners

  • Review and approve property payables, contracts, and expenditures in accordance with approved budgets and owner direction

  • Analyze monthly financial statements, prepare variance explanations, and provide clear owner reporting

  • Prepare, present, and manage annual operating budgets and CAM reconciliations

  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards

  • Partner with in-house and third-party leasing teams on vacancies, renewals, and leasing activity

  • Communicate regularly with institutional owners and asset management regarding property performance and operational matters

  • Support special projects and portfolio initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • Retail commercial property management experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including budgeting and variance analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, owner-facing presence

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, portfolio environment

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel; working knowledge of MRI preferred

  • CPM designation or candidacy a plus

  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned assets, ownership objectives, and reporting expectations

  • Establish trusted, responsive relationships with tenants, vendors, leasing teams, and ownership

  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting with clear variance explanations and budget adherence

  • Proactively identify and address operational issues before they impact tenants or asset performance

  • Execute consistent property inspections and follow-up to maintain Weitzman standards

  • Effectively partner with leasing and asset management to support occupancy, renewals, and income growth

  • Demonstrate sound judgment, accountability, and adaptability across a diverse retail portfolio
