Job description

Position title: Asset Management Assistant (SURGE)

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Clearance required: Public Trust

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Asset Inventory & Validation: Conduct physical inventories of government-owned equipment and facilities, perform data reconciliation to identify discrepancies for government review, and ensure all assets are properly tagged and labeled in accordance with Navy standards.
  • Documentation & Record Management: Assist in maintaining and filing asset records, review them to identify documentation gaps for government action, and prepare and consolidate audit documentation packages upon request.
  • System Data Integrity: Review asset data to identify errors, draft correction requests for government approval, and report on the status of submitted corrections.
  • Internal Controls & SOP: Assist in reviewing and recommending SOP refinements and support the documentation of internal controls and the identification of compliance gaps.
  • Audit Liaison & Response: Serve as a support liaison between government and audit teams, assisting in drafting responses to audit inquiries, tracking findings, and developing draft Corrective Action Plans for government approval.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with DoD property accountability regulations and FIAR standards.
  • Prior experience with asset management systems (DPAS, ERP).
  • Prior experience supporting government audits or compliance programs.
