Position: Administrative/Reception Volunteer

Hours: Part-time, minimum commitment of three months and at least two hours per week
Location: West LA or Lynwood Clinic
Reports To: Patient Services Director

General Description:
The administrative/reception volunteer will perform general office tasks as directed by CH staff. They will assist the clinic in administrative duties such as data entry, chart audits, inventory, research projects, etc. Reception tasks include checking patients in and out via the electronic medical record, assessing patient needs, and scheduling them with the appropriate appointment.

Qualifications:

  • Agree with and uphold the Claris Health Mission Statement, Core Values, and Policies and Procedures.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to work successfully with groups and organizations (both internal and external to the corporation).

  • Possess general computer skills and the ability to handle a multi-line phone system.

Responsibilities:

Administrative

  • Make copies of handouts as needed.

  • Assist in monthly chart audits.

  • Assist in organizing closets, shelves, and other related workspace.

  • Assist in research projects at the request of CH staff members.

  • Assist in office clean up: wiping down medical exam rooms, reception area, doorknobs, phones, etc.

Receptionist

  • Assess each patient's needs with a tone of warmth and compassion.

  • Provide accurate information on services provided and direct patients accordingly.

  • Retrieve all necessary information to create a new-patient file in the electronic medical record.

  • Make reminder calls for upcoming appointments.

  • Make follow-up calls: calling patients whose due dates have passed and checking on current needs.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the Admin/Receptionist Volunteer is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear. This position requires extensive computer use, so the volunteer must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. The volunteer must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel:
The admin/receptionist volunteer must be able to travel between locations and to attend conferences, training, and other events as required in order to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Claris Health's pay ranges vary based on work location.
