Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary:
This is professional and responsible work assisting in various areas of plant accounting/finance, including but not limited to general ledger accounting, operations reporting and forecasting, fixed asset accounting, internal controls, and month-end financial closing and reporting.
Accounting Analyst Job Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Analyst will assist the Controller with plant financial activities including GL accounting and reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end closing process including preparation of manual Journal Entries and ensuring appropriate cost allocations.
  • Monitor receivables and payables activity and address issues as necessary.
  • Maintain fixed asset folders to track capital projects from CAR to CIP to Assets Register. Maintain capital tracking, reporting, and analysis.
  • Support inventory controls including annual physical inventory to ensure accurate inventory balances and perpetual analysis.
  • Support and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Support controller in preparation of monthly outlook requirements as well as annual and long-range plans.
  • Maintain internal controls processes and documentation related to Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Maintain directed supply process and reporting (including intercompany charges)
  • Will backup and support payroll processing

Accounting Analyst Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required. Knowledge of basic accounting theory and methods.
  • Three years related work experience. Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure.
  • Extensive use of MS Excel. Preferred general knowledge of MRP & SAP systems or related ERP Knowledge
  • Looking for someone who is self-motivated, eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is detail oriented.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a standardized, systematic process.
