Job description

Financial Analyst/Accountant
Department: Accounting
Position Overview:
We are looking for someone who is interested in learning our business and not afraid to work in all areas of our accounting department. The goal is for you to understand our business by helping us improve processes and reporting while helping to grow our team and business.

The Financial Analyst role is a multifaceted position as part of our accounting team which is focused on projects, financial amp; data analysis. They're responsible for providing analysis in support of Finance and Executive Management strategic decisions and complying with proper financial controls. Proficiency in managing and analyzing large data sets and drawing summary conclusions are role requirements.
Ideally you will have experience in Crystal Reporting, Spreadsheet Server, Microsoft Excel amp; experience working at a construction company, but it’s not required. Having experience with Viewpoint Vista is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, analyze, report, and communicate financial amp; data analytics
  • Collaborate with Leadership, Sales and Operations to understand data needs and assist in creation of reporting packages for key department and company metrics.
  • Provide financial analytical support to multiple processes, including month-end close procedures, product costing/customer pricing analyses, inventory/purchasing analytics, sales, and production/operations.
  • Continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and consistency of our systems and processes
  • Partner with other departments for analytical support for any aspects of reporting, developing and maintaining metrics, and forecasting
  • Partner with other team members to track the annual budget, rolling forecasts and internal management reports with supporting analysis
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis supporting requests from Leadership
Role Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems or general business/informatics
  • Very detailed oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Not only to collect and analyze data but also to effectively interpret and communicate.
    • Must be able to prepare for and present to cross-functional teams and upper-management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High aptitude in Microsoft applications, especially advanced in Microsoft Excel (required). Proficiency with vlookups, pivot tables, logic statements, advanced filtering, etc
  • Willingness and ability to work in team environment but also be a self-starter, able to complete job requirements independently and meet deadlines
  • Familiar with accounting principles, finance terminology, and systems languages
  • Analytical thinker who is data driven, with a can-do attitude and flexibility to accommodate to evolving business needs
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment with experience working on complex, large-scale, time-critical projects with cross functional team members
  • Strong data analytics, reporting and database experience
  • Accountable, positive, and willing to learn
