UHP's best-in-class clinical program covers three sub-specialties (urology, gastroenterology, and radiation oncology) and offers numerous ancillary services, including pathology lab, in-office dispensing, and chronic care management. UHP is currently affiliated with 182 providers consisting of 119 physicians and 63 advanced practice providers operating out of 54 locations across Southern, Central, and Northern California.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both accounting and financial analysis and wants exposure to a variety of finance functions within a growing healthcare organization. You'll support financial reporting, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue analytics, provider reporting, and month-end close activities in a complex healthcare environment.
The position offers an opportunity to build a strong understanding of healthcare finance within a multi-entity organization and develop skills across both accounting and financial analysis. You'll gain exposure to key financial processes, reporting tools, and operational data while supporting business decisions and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst - Accounting & Reporting is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and analyzing financial information to support accurate reporting, operational decision-making, and organizational planning. This role combines financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, cash forecasting, provider reporting, and accounting support activities. The position partners closely with FP&A, Operations, and leadership to analyze financial performance, identify trends, explain variances, and provide actionable insights that support business objectives. The Financial Analyst - Accounting & Reporting also supports financial reporting, audit activities, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring data integrity and consistency across reporting processes.

What you will be doing
  • Performs monthly P&L and variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, prior month, and prior year, identifying key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities impacting performance.
  • Conducts trend analysis across income statement and balance sheet accounts and investigates unusual fluctuations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Supports monthly revenue reporting by reconciling Power BI reports to the general ledger.
  • Performs mapping of operational revenue data to financial reporting systems and prepares related journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Investigates and resolves revenue variances between operational systems and recorded financial results to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains the organization's rolling 13-week cash flow forecast and analyzes cash flow trends and working capital impacts.
  • Assists with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Supports month-end and year-end close processes through financial analysis and reporting support.
  • Assists with external audit requests by preparing schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve reporting processes and data integrity.
  • Supports special projects, acquisitions, system implementations, and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

What you will bring to the team
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, healthcare finance, public accounting, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP concepts, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience performing flux analysis, trend analysis, and financial research in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP or financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Power BI, or healthcare finance environments is preferred.
