ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to join our growing finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning key accounting processes, digging into data, improving reporting accuracy, and partnering across departments to support a fast-paced, multi-unit business.

The Senior Accounting Analyst will play an important role in the monthly close process and ongoing financial operations, with direct responsibility across several critical accounting areas including cash, daily sales reconciliations, third-party delivery accounting, inventory and cost of goods sold analysis, gift card accounting, pre-opening analysis, and sales tax support. This position offers strong exposure to core accounting operations, the opportunity to help improve processes as the business continues to grow, and may also include oversight and development of an accounting staff and/or intern.

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and prepare bank reconciliations across company accounts, ensuring reconciling items are identified, researched, and resolved timely
  • Monitor and analyze daily bank activity to support accurate cash accounting and reporting
  • Oversee daily sales reconciliations, including point-of-sale activity, payment processors, and cash/credit card deposits
  • Manage third-party delivery accounting, including reconciliation of sales, commissions, fees, chargebacks, and receivables
  • Perform inventory and cost of goods sold analyses, including trend analysis, variance review, and support for month-end reporting
  • Support gift card accounting, including sales, redemptions, and related account reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze pre-opening financial activity for new restaurant locations, including proper expense tracking and reporting
  • Assist with sales tax accounting and compliance, including reconciliations, support schedules, and coordination with internal and external partners
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned accounting areas
  • Investigate variances, unusual transactions, and operational discrepancies, and help drive timely resolution
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Assist with audit support and provide documentation for external auditors and other compliance-related requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and create more efficient workflows
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and other business partners on reporting, analysis, and issue resolution
  • Provide guidance, support, and review for an accounting intern, including helping prioritize work and contributing to their development as applicable
  • Support additional ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–6+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or consumer-facing environment
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Familiarity with third-party delivery accounting, gift card accounting, and sales tax support is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of data
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and POS or reporting platforms preferred
  • CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required
