About the Role:

The Patient Accounts Specialist plays a critical role in the healthcare revenue cycle by ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient accounts and insurance information. This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, coordinating with insurance providers, and resolving billing discrepancies to facilitate smooth payment processes. The specialist acts as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to clarify account statuses and support financial communication. By maintaining detailed and accurate records, the Patient Accounts Specialist helps optimize reimbursement and reduce claim denials. Ultimately, this role contributes to the financial health of the healthcare organization while supporting a positive patient experience through clear and professional account management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in insurance verification or patient accounts within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of dental insurance plans, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with multiple insurance providers 
  • Cloud9 and/or Orthodontic Experience preferred
