Position:

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager who will provide Quality Assurance & Quality Control leadership in an AS9100, IATF 16949, and ISO 13485 environment by:  mentoring and fostering quality inspectors and others within the organization.  Provide Quality Assurance & Quality Control leadership externally by engaging with customers to meet their expectations and with suppliers to help them meet the company’s expectations.  We look for candidates who have similar core values to ours: Have Integrity, Take Initiative, Be Positive and Be Engaged.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare PPAPs, Internal and External CARs, Develop Quality metrics.
  • Evaluate and implement new customer quality requirements.
  • Monitor and Audit ECR / ECO / ECN process.
  • Manage the MRB & RMA Processes internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain FEMA, PFEMA, and process control plans with manufacturing and quality inspection teams based on industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain methods for inspection (MOI) and in-process data sheets (IDS) types of inspection reports.
  • Participate in FAI process including review of all data and documents prior to customer submission.
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections of machined parts throughout the machining process from first piece (FAI) to final inspection.
  • Expert knowledge of working with all conventional inspection tools and gauges such as (but not limited to): micrometers, calipers, height gages, drop indicators, thread gauges, gage pins, comparators etc.
  • Participate in systematic improvements of products and the elimination of defects.
  • Utilize Lean six sigma principles (DMAIC) to analyze and eliminate reoccurring manufacturing and quality control issues.
  • Experience programming & operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) utilizing PC-DIMS or Calypso programming software.
  • Generate NCR’s on discrepant material/parts and insure that nonconforming product is segregated to the MRB cage. Ensure NCR’s are forwarded to MRB members in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with various manufacturing team members to maximize the quality of machined products and resolve quality related issues during the first article inspection and in-process inspection
  • Provide regular feedback to executive management team about industry trends, regulatory changes, employee growth & training, and future metrology equipment needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, currently or eligible to be a Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ), or 12+ years of Quality management experience.
  • Six sigma green belt preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
  • 5+ years of experience in a “Metals Machining Environment”
  • 5+ years of experience setting up and performing CMM inspections.
  • 5+ years using manual inspection equipment (i.e., comparators, micrometers, etc.).
  • Experience working in IATF 16949, AS9100, and ISO13485 quality systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) ASME Y14.5M
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and other common business and quality control related software.
  • Basic knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Solidworks or similar CAD software systems a plus
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 50 lbs. of weight.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Work hours will follow shop hours, Monday-Thursday 6am – 5pm and possible Friday hours when needed.  Flexible working hours can be a consideration.
