OVERVIEW: Interfaith Community Services was founded in 1979 by a handful of diverse faith communities to address the needs of low-income, homeless and under-served people in North San Diego County. Interfaith offers programs through North San Diego County, from the coastal City of Oceanside, to the inland communities south and east of our Escondido headquarters. With more than 300-member faith centers and approximately 250 dedicated staff, Interfaith serviced more than 19,000 unique individuals last year alone.


WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Senior Human Resources Manager at Interfaith Community Services plays a pivotal role in shaping the organizational culture and driving the organization’s mission forward. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Manager is similarly considered a subject matter expert in employee relations, strategic planning, payroll management, recruitment, organizational training & development, and change management. This role is both operational and strategic in nature; leading and supporting efforts that deliver organizational effectiveness, a thriving work environment, inclusive culture, and meeting the growth needs of the organization through effective talent acquisition and management strategies. The Senior Human Resources Manager is a change agent who often operates within ambiguity that must be translated into workable solutions for others.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop proactive solutions.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness, productivity, and employee satisfaction.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Lead the full cycle of recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Partner with senior leadership in developing training strategies to address organizational needs.
  • Design and implement training throughout various levels of the organization.
  • Prepare, plan, and collaborate with appropriate parties around change in the organization.
  • Ensure end to end completion of the change management process (i.e. Policies updated, standard operating procedures updated, resources posted to InterSpace internal SharePoint, feedback collected and responded to, etc.)
  • Develop HR department employees utilizing Gallup Strengths Assessment.
  • Lead HR team to achieve timely and effective organization-focused outcomes.
  • Analyze HR team standard of work and ensure proper distribution of assignments.
  • Strategize with the HR Director for future growth of the organization and support needs.
  • Provide general oversight of Safety and Risk of the organization, including worker’s compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Oversee processing of Leaves of Absence.
  • Assist the HR Director in other assignments as needed.
Requirements:

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. SHRM C-P Preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources, with demonstrated success in employee relations, strategic planning, payroll management, recruitment, and change management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in investigating and resolving employee relations matters.

SKILL SETS / ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal communication with the ability to engage individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Invigorated by change and able to operate effectively with ambiguity.
