Please note: this position is expected to work at our office, in-person, during our standard business hours of M-F 8-5 PM Eastern Time. There may be times when this position can work remotely, but this will not be considered a remote/hybrid position at this time.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS A HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER AT SIGMA:


  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including benefits administration, payroll, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related matters
  • Manage an HR team
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in the management of the organization’s human resources department through planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure compliance with legal regulations and best practices.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Oversight/Management of the company performance management process, including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, coaching, and employee development.
  • Maintain employee benefits programs; assess benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit broker and provider contract bids; awarding benefit broker and provider contracts; working with our broker to design and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Maintain historical human resource records by maintaining a filing and retrieval system for keeping current and past records.
  • Partner with company safety representative on all health and safety related matters including accident investigations, workers’ compensation, and other conditions that could affect employee health or performance.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other related tasks as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadline requirements.

Requirements:

General Requirements:

  • Education*: An Associate's degree in Human Resources or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management is strongly preferred
  • Experience*: 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a service firm.

*management may consider other education and/or work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position.

  • PHR or other relevant certifications are preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and EEOC regulations, HR policies, benefits administration, employee leave policy, ADA, compensation, and wage structure
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality regarding company and employee information.
  • Experience managing conflict, project management & change implementation
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Experience in HRIS and payroll preferred
  • Professional demeanor-positive communication, team skills/cross functional cooperation
  • Available during the core work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST and occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties require.
  • Primarily on-site work, occasional hybrid/remote work option is available.
  • Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check
  • Strong skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Authorized to work in the United States


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.
  • Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
