The Technical and Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is a technical leader of mechanical and equipment maintenance, IT infrastructure and controls. The primary responsibility of the Technical and Maintenance Manager is to design, develop and test mechanical devices within the plant’s automated keg line. This position is a key support resource for a team of dedicated keg quality experts and will be responsible for developing and leading the plant’s maintenance team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a culture of safety, quality, productivity and cost ownership throughout the plant
- Execute all preventive, predictive, reactive and emergency maintenance
- Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair any electrical or mechanical fault on machinery or instrumentation while managing and maintaining spare parts inventory
- Collaborate with site teams to plan and execute plant shut‐downs to complete overhauls, new installations, preventative maintenance and cleaning
- Handle electrical circuit design, mechanical design and troubleshooting
- Facilitate high caliber production and maintenance teams and ensure objectives are set and obtained, to support development and advancement of staff
- Work in consort with production manager to sustain efficiency of plant operations, providing high quality and value to our customers
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Required Skills and Competencies
- Effective communication: provides timely and concise information to help others do their jobs better, across all levels within the organization from the manufacturing floor to senior management
- Ability to lead, develop and challenge a diverse team through effective delegation and timely and accurate completion of tasks within budget
- In‐depth ability to drive troubleshooting using six sigma lean manufacturing, high attention to detail and accuracy
- Skills to adapt quickly to innovation and change, facilitating process improvement initiatives to maintain quality and develop workable implementation plans in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to both customer service and quality; ability to de‐escalate situations successfully
- Knowledge of control systems such as Siemens PLCs, AutoCAD and mechanical design
- Ability to work multiple shifts including night shifts
- Bilingual – fluent in Spanish and English
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution; degree in Electro‐mechanical Engineering preferred
- 6 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or technical application environment
- 2 years of lead or supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of industrial systems, processes and machinery; including instrumentation and controls, PLC’s, plumbing, pumps, filters, material handling technology, pneumatics and electrical
- Experience with heating and air conditioning, Chiller Systems, Boiler and Water treatment systems, washers and other basic physical plant and equipment items
- Knowledge and ability to apply the Lean Principles
- Project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
This position is in a production / manufacturing work environment. Ability to work occasional flexible, long hours based on company/volume needs. Work hours vary depending on business needs.
The employee may be exposed to high noise level, manufacturing/electrical equipment, pressurized equipment, moving objects, hazardous materials, fumes/odors, dirt/dust, and warm/cold temperatures.
Personal protective equipment is required when on the production floor to include steel toe boots, hearing protection and eye protection. No loose clothing, jewelry, or accessories are allowed.
