As an Administrative Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative support to the TANF Support and Engagement Team at the El Paso County Department of Human Services to include closely tracking and monitoring various data, scheduling incoming applications, maintaining a SharePoint page, and communicating with a wide range of community partners.
Hiring Range: $21.163 - $21.304 Hourly
(commensurate with qualifications)
This position has an anticipated work schedule of 25 hours Monday Friday, 9:00am 2:00pm, with limited flexibility. Schedule is subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Provides administrative support to staff, supervisors, and division manager within the Department of Human Services (DHS). Establishes and maintains databases; creates electronic files. Provides customer service support to the division. Retrieves data and reports from CBMS database; maintains and distributed reports as needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities- Drafts, edits, and processes letters, reports, forms, meeting minutes, and memos; ensures accuracy, correct grammar, punctuation, and adherence to reporting requirements.
- Establishes and maintains databases for tracking and reporting of information. Creates electronic files and folders; inputs and updates information in databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Compiles and analyzes statistical information.
- Provides customer service support to the division, to include providing general program information andreferrals and assisting with caseworker responses both in person and over the phone.
- Processes, mails, and files paperwork, documentation, and other pertinent information.
- Retrieves data and reports from CBMS database.
- Maintains and distributes reports to supervisors and staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and with regard to proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to work effectively with coworkers, County staff, and the general public.
- Ability to effectively plan, schedule, and organize. Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Must be detail oriented and ensure accuracy in work.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Proficiency with software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, and database applications.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Two years full-time clerical experience in an office setting.
- Any equivalent combination of related education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. May be exposed to clients in stressful situations. This is a part-time position regularly working up to 25 hours per week.
