Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.
The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation's premier regional theaters, is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable individual to serve as an Accounting & Human Resources Coordinator. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of the Finance & Administration Department, reporting to the Controller. Responsibilities include a wide range of duties including processing accounts payable, payroll, new employee information, among other accounting and personnel related procedures. This position works in coordination with all departments to assist with the financial and human capital success of the Pittsburgh CLO.
What you'll do:

  • Accounts Payable: enter all vendor information in accounting software (Sage Intacct), route invoices for approval, process invoices, print checks bi-weekly, maintain A/P digital and paper files, complete annual vendor analysis, and assist with preparation of 1099s.
  • Payroll: In conjunction with the Accountant, process bi-weekly and/or weekly payroll, administer Flexible Spend Accounts, complete union and wage garnishments and issue corresponding payments, and complete payroll journal entries.
  • Personnel: Assist the Human Resources Manager with processing new hire paperwork and onboarding new employees in the HRIS/payroll system, drafting offer letters, processing unemployment claims, and other human resources duties as needed.
  • Accounts Receivable: deposit check and cash payments, record cash receipts into the General Ledger, and verify payments received.
  • Coordinate with the General Manager to prepare ticket sales reports for royalty and settlement statements for each production.
  • Prepare items for annual audits, budget preparation, fiscal close procedures, corporate credit card reconciliations, general accounting procedures, and other required internal and external reporting, as directed by the Controller.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:
  • Associate degree or higher in accounting, human resources, or related field.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • 2 + years professional experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately process a high volume of Accounts Payable transactions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and precision.
  • Strong commitment to ethics and adherence to company controls and procedures.
  • Strict adherence to confidentiality, maintaining and protecting sensitive information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be a responsible and reliable team member.
  • Experience with non-profit fund accounting and software preferred.
  • Experience with onboarding and payroll procedures preferred.
  • Union payroll experience a plus.
  • Flexible and skilled at juggling multiple projects at once with the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Engaged in and inspired by Musical Theater.

  • Hourly compensation starting at $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
