Compliance Account Manager

Job Summary

Medcom Benefits Solutions is currently looking for Health and Welfare Compliance Account Manager in Jacksonville. The Account Manager is responsible for consulting and facilitating the overall compliance needs of our group health and welfare programs for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Works with benefits brokers to design, recommend and draft group health and welfare Plan Documents ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations including ERISA and ACA-mandated requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, providing recommendations for plan changes, evaluating plan performance and trends, conducting IRS testing, and completing annual reports.
  • Uses critical thinking skills to understand the story being told by the data to properly advise and provide solutions to compliance issues.
  • Acts as point person for brokers and clients.
  • Ensures timeliness and accuracy of projects for regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Provides assistance with benefit-related issues, questions, etc.
  • Provides customer service support to clients.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Education/Experience

Any combination of education and/or experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in direct customer service
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel
  • Prioritizing multiple requests.
  • Detail-oriented and able to make sound business decisions that are based on objective data

Preferred Education/Experience

Any combination of education and/or experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Experience administering retirement and other deferred compensation programs, including required/compliance documents and coordination of related audits
  • Experience in successfully leading effective wellness initiatives resulting in both financial and employee relations benefits
  • Experience with employer self-funded medical coverage

Preferred Licenses/Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CCP, or other related certifications are highly preferred.

Preferred Experience: 2+ years in employee benefits/insurance

Preferred Knowledge

Any combination of education and/or experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • Detailed knowledge of various health and welfare programs, including specific knowledge of administering these programs.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resource functions and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law and Wage and Hour requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of benefit regulations.
