Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) Compliance Manager to lead our compliance efforts for affordable housing projects. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the adherence to LIHTC regulations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain seamless coordination with property management teams. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality, compliant housing solutions while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the success of our affordable housing initiatives through proactive compliance management and strategic problem-solving.
Duties:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of LIHTC compliance programs across multiple properties.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of lease agreements, tenant files, and financial reports to ensure adherence to LIHTC regulations and fair housing laws.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to facilitate accurate rent calculations, income certifications, and annual compliance reporting.
  • Manage audit preparations by maintaining detailed documentation and responding promptly to regulatory inquiries or audits.
  • Provide guidance on landlord-tenant law, Section 8 voucher programs, and fair housing regulations to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  • Utilize property management software such as Yardi and OneSite for data analysis, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Offer training sessions for staff on LIHTC requirements, social work best practices, motivational interviewing techniques, and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Negotiate with regulatory agencies or funding bodies during compliance reviews or dispute resolutions to uphold project integrity.
  • Address tenant concerns related to housing subsidies or legal issues through effective crisis management and crisis intervention skills.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in LIHTC compliance management within property management or affordable housing sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of LIHTC regulations, Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant law, Section 8 programs, and related federal/state policies.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of navigating complex regulatory environments confidently.
