Job description

Compliance Expansion Lead
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85085
Pay Range: $60,000 + DOEPosition Summary:
The Compliance Expansion Lead plays a critical role in preparing and supporting new store openings across multiple states. This position ensures all new locations are compliant with state-specific cannabis regulations, oversees staff training, supports operational readiness, and drives post-launch audits and compliance programs. This is a highly dynamic role requiring extensive travel, cross-functional collaboration, and deep regulatory knowledge.
Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to review state-specific cannabis regulations and prepare compliance documentation.
  • Responsible for developing SOPs, onboarding guides, training materials, and flowcharts to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Must create and execute internal inspections and mock audits to assess launch readiness.
  • Must oversee store setup and inventory intake from a compliance perspective.
  • Responsible for implementing and configuring cannabis platforms including Metrc, Biotrack, and Dutchie.
  • Must deliver in-person and virtual compliance training sessions for new teams.
  • Responsible for coaching staff and supporting the creation of compliant scheduling and operational workflows.
  • Must provide on-site support during store openings, including POS setup and documentation prep.
  • Required to conduct daily document reviews, operational checklist audits, and follow-ups during launch.
  • Must perform weekly check-ins post-launch and monthly inventory inspections and site audits

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card (or equivalent license) in applicable states.
  • Extensive knowledge of cannabis compliance platforms and state regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience developing training programs, SOPs, and performing audits.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • close attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects across states.
  • Cannabis retail experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including extended on-site assignments.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work on-site for several consecutive weeks when needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for system configuration and document review.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in a mix of retail, corporate, and travel environments.
  • Exposure to retail operational settings including dispensary and warehouse conditions.
  • May require PPE and adherence to site-specific security/compliance protocols.

Travel Requirements:
  • Frequent travel required (up to 75%).
  • Must be available for last-minute travel assignments and able to remain on-site up to four weeks at a time.
