Job Description
Management of planning, coordination and compliance activities for US & Canadian operations with Federal, State, and Provincial ordinances/regulations. Principle focus on Fleet & Regulatory Licensing operational activities. Provide knowledge and direction on application of policy requirements and regulation interpretation.
Responsibilities
  • Maintains extensive knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and governing State and Provincial agencies
  • Ensure HSE agenda is included and aligned with Transportation business initiatives across sectors.
  • Communicate and provide guidance to Transportation operations leadership and staff.
  • Implement standard HSE support offering using common tools and training
  • Manages Region approach to transport of Dangerous Goods including training, consultants, and standards.
  • Provides health and safety analysis and reporting
  • Support Safety Improvement Programs (SIPs) focused on the Transportation business
  • Research, recommend and implement solutions for non-standard support requests
  • Provides support with interpreting, training, and applying company policies and programs
  • Provides regulatory compliance guidance to managers on corrective actions, legal, and compliance issues
  • Supports Operations on Transportation Safety and Compliance Initiatives
  • Supports development and maintenance of HSE Policies and Procedures relevant to Transportation Safety and Compliance
  • Consult with the business unit(s) & other department on transportation safety including training, technology implementation, material handling, and other items as may arise
  • Proactively track laws and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and practices.
  • Develop and execute project plans through coordination with HSE Program Manager
  • Establish appropriate KPI's, etc, to measure and demonstrate function performance. Maintain focus on process improvement internal and external to the team.
  • Develop efficient and effective working relationships with other functional areas and ops personnel.
  • Manage regulatory inquiries and audits with close collaboration with HSE, Quality, Regulatory Security and Legal with appropriate actions/responses as required.
  • Manage effective communication with all levels of the business; to include daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
  • Monitor professional trends and regulatory changes/updates

Required Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree, required
  • Bachelors Degree in related field, preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience required
  • 1+ years Supply Chain experience, preferred
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, FDA, DEA, and state BOP regulatory environments
