Yates Industries is currently seeking a Industrial Customer Service Representative in our St. Clair Shores office!

Summary: Responsible for all aspects of customer service including data entry and orders, assists account managers with paperwork as needed, and assists all distributor and regional sales managers with paperwork by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer customer’s incoming calls, emails, and fax communications
  • Prepare quotes for customer needs
  • Provide customer with drawings for approval
  • Enter customer order into Made2Manage system and EOS Configurator
  • Provide quotes for orders and quote follow-up when requested
  • Review/spot checks orders
  • Assist with new employee training
  • Assist the Accounting Department with account set-up and credit account functions
  • Assist Regional Sales Managers on quotes, orders, and projects
  • Assist with Supervisor on any projects needed
  • Effectively communicates with Inside Sales Manager/Supervisor daily on workload, performance and tasks, and participates in team meetings. Review itinerary with management on special sales projects when assigned
  • Other duties maybe assigned

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet Explorer, Made2Manage, and Microsoft Outlook.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of Windows XP or higher
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. All employees are required to wear safety glasses and hard sole/close-toed shoes with a low heel when walking through the manufacturing shop and/or repair shop whether as part of performing their job or just passing through. In addition, long hair must be tied back when around hazards of flame, machinery, or equipment.
