Position Description

As our HR Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives to support our growth and success. We are looking for a hands-on leader that manages all aspects of HR management, from recruitment and talent development to employee relations and compliance to build out our HR function to support our organization’s mission, growth and strategic vision.


This opportunity is not remote and requires an on-site presence.  Please note that this position does not offer relocation assistance or sponsorship opportunities.

 

Responsibilities

  1. HR Operations and Process Development:
    • Oversee day-to-day HR administration and operations.
    • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of HR processes and systems to support the organization's growth objectives.
    • Establish scalable procedures for performance management, and employee development.
    • Continuously assess process effectiveness and make enhancements to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. Develops and implements appropriate change management plans as needed.
    • Provides guidance to objectively assess and resolve employee relations issues. Identifies root causes as opportunities to improve team effectiveness; coaches managers to be proactive in employee relations issues.
  2. Talent Acquisition and Management:
    • Develop a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy and solutions that reinforce our business strategy and advance culture change initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage diverse, hardworking talent.
    • Scale our recruitment processes to streamline candidate sourcing, screening, and selection.
    • Implement talent management initiatives to identify high-potential employees and foster their development within the organization.
  3. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Partner with legal counsel to address legal and regulatory matters related to HR operations. 
  4. Compensation, Benefits And Payroll/HRIS
    • Coordinate and manage compensation plans; prepare and implement annual salary plans, develop and align compensation plans to drive desired employee and business performance.
    • Manage HRIS system and oversee payroll processing and ensures data integrity.
    • Manage and administer the Company’s robust benefits programs to attract and retain top talent.
  5. Organizational Development:
    • Collaborate with department heads to assess organizational needs and develop strategies for organizational structure and design.
    • Facilitate change management initiatives to support organizational growth and development.
  6. Training and Development Programs:
    • Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies


    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Extensive experience of at least 10 years, with a track record of progressively responsible roles, including a minimum of 6 years in a leadership position.
    • Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, is required to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the field.
    • Experience designing and implementing scalable, high quality HR programs in a Technology, MedTech or BioTech company with multiple locations.
    • Comprehensive understanding of current labor, wage, and hour laws at both the California state and federal levels, combined with a deep knowledge of HR best practices.
    • Exceptional organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills, enabling effective communication in various formats and the ability to positively influence staff and executives.
    • Established credibility as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing guidance on business issues and strategies, recognizing the impact of human resources on overall performance.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of judgment to ensure accurate assessment of liability claims.
    • Familiarity with BambooHR and Paychex is desirable, demonstrating proficiency in its usage.

    Compensation


    We are pleased to provide a competitive salary and benefits. Our benefits reflect our investment in the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families. including paying 100% of monthly healthcare, dental & vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with employer matching and unlimited PTO. The expected pay range is: $160,000 to $185,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
