Purpose
A niche freight forwarding company is expanding its Global Forwarding Operations Network.  Already established in Florida with its Yacht Transportation Division, the company is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced general forwarding and logistics professional (ideally with customs experience) seeking advancement in their career and personal growth to lead the US General Forwarding Division.

The candidate will be initially tasked with hiring and developing a small team 2 - 3 individuals to grow the general forwarding division in the USA. This will include customs import and export capabilities.

As a manager of a small team, you will oversee the department's day-to-day activities and serve as the primary contact for clients, with a focus also on developing new business.  Supported by the Head Office, this role is ideal for someone ambitious and eager to lead a new project with the autonomy to foster its growth and development further.

Main Responsibilities
Contribute to Strategic and Operational Planning:  Participate in planning both short and long-term objectives for US General Forwarding.
Manage New Team:  day to day management of new department (supported by US General Manager and Global General Forwarding Manager).
Business Development:  Lead on business development together with team and wider group.
Manage Day-to-Day Operations:  Oversee the sales and operations for Sea freight, Airfreight, Road freight, and customs.  Manage coordination of all shipments and handle documentation.
Financial Management:  Oversee the financial management of jobs, ensuring compliance with month-end procedures.

Skill Set
Experienced Multi Model Operator - 5 years minimum, 10 years ideally
Management experience a bonus
Hold a Customs Broker License or have been involved in the process of obtaining one
Existing client contacts
Well organized and can manage multiple tasks
Experienced in quickly identifying issues and recommending solutions to business problems in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations
Strong communicator at all levels
Proactive with ability to use initiative
Ability to motivate and work as part of a team
Strong work ethic with drive to develop the department further
Preferable background with the marine industry although not essential
