Human Resources Generalist and Recruiter

Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will provide support to the HR team in all areas of the department, including but not limited to, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy and procedure implementation, compliance, audit and training. Additionally, the HR Generalist will assist in talent acquisition and management, employee communications, and may be responsible for the administration of human resources programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare paperwork and agenda for smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
- Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including data entry in HRIS and audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in conducting compensation reviews, gathering information and providing data to each employee.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training and certifications. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, security and diversity.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Coordinates and manages hiring process with guidance from HR Manager and Director of Engineering.
- Assists with recruiting for the Viable Internship program.
- Manages the job posting process to ensure timely advertisement of open positions.
- Source qualified candidates.
- Interview and assist in the selection of qualified candidates to fill approved positions. Coach managers on candidate interviewing and selection. Analyze job requirements making recommendation of final selection.
- Manage hourly employment offer processes and all pre-employment steps – references, background check, and drug screen – in preparation for completing the hiring process.
- Follow through on all resumes and applications received for open positions to ensure proper correspondence is sent to applicants. Maintains applicant database.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Be the primary backup for all HR matters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Organization or a related field required.
- At least five (5) years related experience in Human Resources.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
