Job Description
Reinhardt University seeks a Nursing Simulation Coordinator for the Cauble School of Nursing.

The Nursing Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all aspects of the Simulation lab at Reinhardt University, Cauble School of Nursing. This individual must have supervisory skills, broad base knowledge of nursing and the equipment necessary to maintain a current and highly functional simulation lab. This individual must also have excellent communication and collaborative skills, the ability to work well with faculty, students, and must have the knowledge and skills to meet the standards set forth by the regulatory and accrediting agencies. The Nursing Simulation Coordinator has full responsibility for the lab and reports directly to the dean.

Specific may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Order and maintain supplies necessary for the simulation lab.
  • Maintain equipment and space in the lab area.
  • Provide supervision for student practice sessions and assist with remediation.
  • Coordinate simulation lab schedules with course coordinators.
  • Prep lab for scheduled skills and simulation activities.
  • Serve as an assistant for faculty teaching in the lab.

Experience working with students in clinical settings, skills lab or simulation is preferred. The Nursing Simulation coordinator will not be mandated to sit on university committees; however, the coordinator will be required to attend the School of Nursing meetings. The Nursing Simulator coordinator will also work with the course coordinator of the course to ensure appropriate evaluation of the student. If problems are identified with a specific student or experience, the lab coordinator will work with the faculty to identify the problem and establish possible solutions and intervene to solve problems. The lab coordinator is to uphold the mission and vision of Reinhardt University and the School of Nursing and to represent the school accordingly.

Qualifications
  • Minimum master's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least two years of teaching/clinical experience at the collegiate level preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is preferred.
  • State of Georgia Registered Nursing Licensure
  • Ability to organize and maintain lab equipment and supplies within the lab space.
  • Organizational skills for coordinating with multiple class schedules and individual student practice.
  • Proficient in the use of simulation equipment is preferred, however, if the candidate has not had simulation training, he/she must be willing to complete training.

The Nursing Simulation Coordinator will attend an orientation with faculty and/or the Dean of Nursing. The Nursing Simulation Coordinator will meet with the faculty at the beginning of each semester for orientation to course expectations, policies, and procedures. Collegiality, professionalism, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the Mission of the University are also necessary qualifications.
