Accountant

Ford & Harrison LLP, a national labor and employment law firm, located in Midtown Atlanta, is seeking a Staff Accountant for its Accounting Department. This position will report directly to the Controller and work closely with the Sr. Accountant and other team members.

This is an exempt, full-time position. Responsibilities: The Staff Accountant will handle all aspects of the day-to-day accounting, recurring and ad hoc reporting of statistical and financial information, firm budgeting and forecasting, actual expense reporting to key administrative contacts, year-to-date spending analysis of expenses vs. prior year, and provide support for the annual audit and tax return process. The Staff Accountant will also regularly assist the Accounts Payable team and AR Specialist as requested and provide primary coverage when the A/P Specialist is out of the office (Firm expenses, Client-billable items, and Client Escrow disbursements). Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and up to two years of experience in an accounting role within an organization.

Professional services firm experience is a plus but not required. The candidate must be a self-starter, have strong organizational skills, have a high level of attention to detail in producing work product, and have an ability to effectively meet timelines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy in gaining respect from attorneys and other firm employees.

Knowledge of Aderant Expert (or a similar financial system) is a plus. Intermediate usage of Microsoft Excel is required.Qualified candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, and salary requirements. No search firms.
