Sr IT Project Manager/Product Owner

General Description

In response to its growing demand for exceptional talent, Equiscript is searching for a highly motivated professional to join its team in a Sr.  IT Project Manager/Product Owner capacity.  The successful candidate will be key in understanding, developing, and delivering software products to internal and external customers; while ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule, quality,  and budget requirements. He or she will account for all stakeholders in all phases of the project lifecycle and regularly communicate status; including issues, risks, pending decisions, etc.  This position requires high interaction with all levels of the company and the ability to persuade others to continually improve how work is done. Equiscript is looking for a flexible individual who wants to be the voice of the customer and is eager to solve complex problems in a rapidly growing company. A successful and exceptional Product Owner on this team will deliver highly valuable inspiring products within short timelines while closely collaborating with the Software Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the voice of the customer.
• Conduct business analysis/requirements gathering for platform development and ensure these are translated appropriately into user stories, tasks, bugs, enhancements, with clear acceptance criteria and contextualized for the development team, delivered in a timely fashion.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers to understand their needs.
• Create and align product roadmap(s) to strategic goals, and own the product roadmap (s).
• Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
• Define project scope, schedule,  communication plan, and backlog items (epics/features/user stories).
• Lead end-to-end project activities including initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing; ensuring all stakeholders are accounted for.
• Escalate roadblocks that are beyond the project team’s responsibility.
• Apply holistic systems thinking approach to solution development, incorporating all aspects of a system and its environment into the design, development, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure Equiscript and its partners can function efficiently and have access to the information needed for effective patient contact.
• Assist with implementation and training of process and system improvements.
• Ensure that workflows, processes, and process improvements required to support optimal customer service are correctly defined, documented, and implemented.
• Provide training on company systems.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Other duties as assigned

Professional Qualities

• Flexible, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent critical thinking ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid and practical understanding of technology (i.e., web-based applications, relational databases, etc.)
• Understands the product life cycle from sales, development, and customer support. 
• Can describe product features and benefits using key product terminology.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or related field.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred.
• 5+  years of experience in project management, business analysis, product management,  software development, or IT-related positions.
• Healthcare, EHR experience.
• 2+  years experience with SalesForce.com.
•  Hands-on experience in Jira and Confluence.

Physical Requirements

• Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching; May require lifting up to 25 pounds; requires a normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
