Job description

Farmington Country Club is seeking an experienced and highly organized Owner's Representative to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the Club's small and large capital projects from concept through completion. Acting as the Club's primary advocate, this role manages all phases of design, engineering, permitting, construction, and project closeout-ensuring each project is delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with FCC's strategic priorities and exceptional member-experience standards.
The Owner's Representative collaborates closely with the Chief Business Officer, General Manager/CEO, department leaders, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to protect the Club's interests and ensure capital investments strengthen operational excellence and enhance the member and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
  • Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics in partnership with Club leadership.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations that support strategic planning.
  • Develop project plans, master schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide clear, routine updates on design, engineering, and permitting progress; and assist in reviews and inspections with authorities having jurisdiction.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination
  • Support and manage selection and contracting of architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors through competitive procurement processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact among project stakeholders, ensuring aligned communication and expectations.
  • Facilitate project meetings and coordinate day-to-day activities of the project team.
  • Engage leadership, committees, and other stakeholders to secure direction, approvals, and buy-in.

Budget & Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage project budgets, estimates, and financial forecasts.
  • Review and approve invoices, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Provide accurate, timely financial reports and budget updates to the Chief Business Officer.

Construction Oversight
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure alignment with approved plans, quality standards, schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to observe work, evaluate progress, and anticipate challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, permitting requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Review design and construction documents for constructability and consistency with project goals.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation plans.
  • Advises on and resolves issues and conflicts that arise between stakeholders or contractors.
  • Manage claims, scope adjustments, and contract-related concerns professionally and efficiently.

Project Closeout & Turnover
  • Oversee punch list completion, commissioning, and turnover of all project components.
  • Ensure receipt of all required closeout materials, warranties, manuals, and as-built documentation.
  • Support operational teams with training and transition to new systems, equipment, and spaces.
  • Manage warranty-period coordination and post-occupancy follow-up.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, project management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, capital project oversight, development, or owner's representation. 10+ years total experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, permitting, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
