Help Desk Technician
Essential Functions:
Serve as the primary contact to provide hardware, software and litigation support for our lawyers and support staff
Provide Tier 1 & 2 support on all firm software applications
Troubleshoot end user networking / connectivity issues with PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, etc.
Maintain user accounts on our network, phone systems, and various 3rd party services.
Deploy, support and maintain PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, mobile devices, etc.
Assist with general housekeeping of the network / department, such as file and folder organization (native and within Document Management system), create / maintain forms and templates in Microsoft Word as needed, maintain hardware and software inventories, and draft / maintain troubleshooting and training documentation as necessary.
Conduct new employee orientation training as well as specialized and/or refresher training on firm applications when trainer is unavailable or double booked.
Occasional travel is required, with occasional overnight stays in our more distant locations for special projects.
Flexibility with overtime and weekend work during a project or on an emergent basis is a must.
Hours are 9 - 5, but may vary occasionally to allow for extended coverage of the help desk.
Qualifications:
Should have at least 2-3 years’ experience providing help desk and technical support for multiple locations, preferably in a law office or legal department environment.
Must be able to lift various technology related equipment, handle tools comfortably
Excellent communication skills (oral & written), documentation skills, and customer service skills (telephone and desk side) are essential.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite is a must. Experience with MS Word in a legal environment is a plus.
Must be able to learn new technology quickly, think on your feet in any troubleshooting situation, understand and follow established protocols, and work independently as well as in a group setting.
