ATI has a current need for a full-time Human Resources Generalist/Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing HR- related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the Human Resources Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, performance management, policy implementation, benefits, employee relations and employee law compliance.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support corporate recruitment and hiring, talent and performance management, employment law, compensation and benefits, and HR data analysis.
  • Talent acquisition to manage the firm’s entire recruitment process in a timely manner including but not limited to identifying future hiring needs, designing job descriptions, sourcing candidates through multiple data sources, conducting interviews, and keeping abreast of employment law and legislation.
  • Grow/maintain corporate pipeline of candidates for internal hiring purposes.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
  • Execute all administrative tasks related to onboarding/offboarding, encompassing new hire data entry, document collection, and termination notifications.
  • Assist in payroll and maintain confidentiality while managing HR information.
  • Administer compensation and benefit plans.
  • Maintain the online HR portal, validate internal employee changes to maintain data integrity and alignment with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage employee performance reviews.
  • Assist with the development/enhancement of HR processes, policies, and systems.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; Periodically audits Forms I-9
  • Processing documentation and preparing reports related to personnel activities (such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and performance evaluations).
  • Liaise with stakeholders and facilitate employee complaint/conflict resolution.
  • Assist with all other day-to-day operations of HR functions and duties.


Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum an associate degree in HR or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws (i.e. EEO, FMLA, ADA, Wage and hour).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ HR experience including 2 years direct involvement as a Recruiter
  • Experience in recruiting architectural-engineering, construction management, and/or skilled trade positions is preferred.
  • Able to pass routine background checks including credit, criminal and drug screening.

  • Self-motivated team player with excellent people skills AND demonstrated dependability and trustworthiness.
  • Sound judgment and analytical prowess to navigate complex challenges.
  • High level of discretion with confidential material.
  • Ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
  • HR software and ATS knowledge preferred.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office applications.
  • Willingness and aptitude to adapt to new processes and technical systems.


Job Type: Full-time


Location: Head Office, Columbia, MD; Working partially remotely can be considered.

 

Working Hours: Normal Work Hours – Monday – Friday (anticipate 40 per week).
